We’re packing today.
Or, well, to be quite literal, we WILL BE packing today, but currently My Three Guys and I are piled on the couch watching the adventures of Special Agent Oso. But in just a little bit, once everyone has rubbed the sleep out of their eyes and the coffee has had a chance to make us jittery, we’ll be packing boxes. Boxes full of clothes, of well-loved books, of Pyrex baking pans, old pictures and baby keepsakes.
There is a move happening, but we aren’t going anywhere. (At least not quite yet… but that’s a topic for another day…) My mom is moving. After almost a year of All The Mess, it’s time. So she’s heading out into the wild blue yonder of…
…wait for it…
Omaha, Nebraska.
I KNOW. Crazy. But there is a reason. And a story. (A purty awesome one, at that, if I might say so.) And she’ll tell it all when the time is right.
So today the boys, John, my brother (home from college for a day), my mama and, you know, moi, are all home for one last time, packing up boxes full of… schtuff… and whole heap o’ memories.
We might pack a few tears in those boxes, too, but we’re not talking about that part.
Also, we’re talking about favorite books on marriage and singleness over at YLCF today, so head on over there and chime in with your list.

Your awesome new blogger set-up says “Would you like to be the first to leave a comment?” Why yes, yes I would.
I’m excited for your Mama, and I don’t know why. Can’t wait to hear the story. I can only imagine the bittersweetness of such a move, but God has good things in store for those that follow after Him in all things.
I think you should move to Nebraska, ’cause then you’d be a million states closer to me.
That right there makes you want to start packing your entire house up, I know! Hardy har har.
You guys have a great day, and we’ll be praying the Lord’ll be with your Mom during this move.

Sounds like a lot of excitement and sadness all wrapped in one. I hope the packing goes well, and yes, we will be eagerly awaiting the story, to see what the Lord is now doing in her life.
